Socket 939 CPU
To talk about the socket 939 CPU you must first
talk about the socket itself. It first came out in 2004 specifically to enhance
the new line of 64 bit processors by AMD. These were and are a big deal in their
advancement to compete with Intel processors in the marketplace.
You can find computer CPUs for socket 939 available in single and dual-core
modes. Obviously most people went with dual-core once the prices went down. The
Athlon 64, Athlon 64 FX and Athlon 64 X2 were the computer processors that were
mainly built for this socket.

The socket 939 cpu has faded out of the limelight after the socket AM2 CPUs hit
the marketplace in 2006. I personally loved that line of processors and they were
great for overclocking. However, these computer CPUs were just as fast during their
two years of processing.
If you need about 2.5ghz - 2.8ghz of dual-core processing then this type of AMD
cpu will suit you well. I personally prefer the athlon 64 FX version for their
overclockability. I will leave it up to your imagination to find out how far you
can push them. AMD is already known for going well beyond the manufacturer speed
limits.
