Best Intel Processor Comparison

An Intel processor comparison is probably one of the more insightful investigations we can go through when we search for a particular computer part. The option of AMD is there, but it seems to me that if you want an AMD it is because you like the price or you have become a fan over the years because of the easiness to overclock. You could possibly even want to stop giving Microsoft i.e. Intel more money to spend while you quickly go poor upgrading computer components.

I will tell you tell you outright that the easiest way to do a computer cpu comparison is to look at a CPU speed comparison. You can can access a great one that constantly updates with user input by Passmark at cpubenchmark.net.

However, I will give youa cpu performance comparison that will be quick and too the point over the major game changers in the recent decade of Intel CPUs. I won't go into the complete detail that you can get from another website, but reading a mile of text won't help anybody. I will give you the information you need, nothing more, nothing less.

Pentium 4 processors

I remember when I used to do Intel processor comparisons with this particular computer processor. A lot of variety was available with this line over the years. I actually still own a functioning one that I do very basic work on. It is hard to throw away a working computer especially when I believe in going green.

Intel Pentium 4 Cedar Mill

This socket 775 cpu is just like the prescott except that it tries to bring a little more efficient to the user. It does this by having 65 nanometers on the computer CPU. This is a great thing that they are able to do this, but the Intel processor speed enhancement is just not capable within this line of technology and this will be the last time you see it.

Intel Pentium 4 Northwood

This computer CPU probably strikes some cords with certain overclockers around the world. It was great to have this computer processor fighting with the AMD line of XP processsors, but it has a fatal hardware specific problem. When you pull the Vcore above tested level it will become unstable and will eventually dying. It seems that just trying it one time could kill this computer processor dead. Nobody likes a dead computer CPu!

Intel Pentium 4 Prescott

The Intel Pentium 4 Prescott computer processor line was a great. Nobody can really admire that it is 90 nanometers and the very last of these Pentium 4s on the market. It has a good history and performs well, but new technologies are around the corner and this would not be in the interest of anybody looking to have a computer that would stand the test of time.

Intel Pentium 4 Williamette

This computer processor was the start of the Pentium 4 brand. As far as an intel processor comparison it was a very crappy start. The technology was not ready and running with a 180 nanometer die was not the way of the future. Later on in the process they got better, but they were barely able to catch up to AMDs new power in the business. I find this rather embarrasing as they call AMD the poor man's computer cpu. AMD is nothing short of a great computer processor and should be well respect amongst its competitors.

Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition

For an Intel processor comparison you probably remark an extreme edition a waste of time. It obviously must be a marked up manufacturer grade overclock that you could do yourself right? Well in reality it was just that and people always fall for certain keywords every time. They increase the Front Side Bus (FSB) to 200mhz and made the price $1000 dollars. This made many people angry and started calling Intel greedy and things you would hear about the IRS. It was the fastest computer processor out at the time, but if the price is not right then your business model is not right!

Intel Pentium M

The Intel pentium M computer processor is a type used only for laptops and other mobile devices. It is one of the most popular brands for mobile technology in that time period and I got to work with many of its kind on several different setups. It performed very well if taken care of and its an excellent computer CPU. One particulary going green feature I saw was the Power Save. It slows down the computer CPU when not use to save energy and the computer battery. This is really important for laptops because if the battery won't last then you might as well have a desktop with a very long electrical cord.

Intel Pentium D

The Intel processor comparison of Intel Pentium D and AMD Athlon 64 came to a high at this point. These two computer processors were evenly matched several times during the process and it became harder and harder to figure out, which one is the winner. This was a big deal because Intel created their first dual core processor!

Another big deal this series of computer processors is the fact that they were easily overclocked! It was possible for people get up up to 4ghz+ with certain computer water cooling configurations. Many gamers were hopping on the bandwagon over to Intel to try out this new technology instead of AMD and once again the marketplace began to shift. If you look at an Intel processor comparison graph you will see that this change takes place quickly once this is implemented.

Intel Pentium Dual-Core

You can almost say that this is a copy of the Pentium D series, but it is not. It uses a different CPU architecture than the archaic Intel Pentium D. This has allowed it to reach new heights in computer technology. It also remained an extremely good overclocking computer processor. Other than this there is not much to say about it. You can find more information at Intel Pentium E5200 and Intel Pentium E5300.

Intel Core 2

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 imageIntel Core 2 Quad Q9550 image

The great thing about the Intel Core 2 is that it comes in dual-core and quad-core. This opens up all kinds of possibilities for your Intel processor comparison. This is just within one small part of the product line. The only problem with these is no hyper threading. They are made to use computer CPU clock cycles efficiently in order to get performance. I believe this is a better way to go about things than utter brute strength. an Intel processor comparison graph would show how this works out.

Of course along side this Intel has decided to continue to promote their Extreme Editions in case you are lazy and just can't quite do it yourself. Either way you will have to find some decent cooling to keep the heat down either way. You just have a better reason for telling them that your computer processor blew up! Of course I am not paying hundreds of dollars more just to say that!

Intel Core i3, i5 and i7

Since I have personal intel processor comparisons of these products I will not go into deep detail about these processors. They are the latest available now in 2010 and people are eating them up on all their laptops and desktop computers. They are performing quite well in all regions from overclocking to energy consumption. You can find more information at Intel Core I3, Intel Core I5, Intel Core i7 920, Intel Core i7 920 and Intel Core i7 920.
