Installing RAM

I have the belief that installing ram memory is probably one of the biggest performance boosters you can have on a computer, especially an older one like I just can’t let go of. I am a computer fanatic though….it can’t be helped. As for yourself, you just want the lagging and freezing screens to stop pestering you. If you want to use that fancy new software you will probably be in need of a RAM upgrade.

Computer RAM in reality is kind of like a hard drive for temporary purposes, in fact, you can use part of your hard drive as RAM if necessary. I won’t delve into those specifications though. Upgrading RAM is a easy snap into some prefitted slots on your motherboard next to the CPU. Adding RAM is not as fragile as the computer CPU but can still be bent if you don’t slide it into the prefitted slots correctly. SDRAM has 2 notches in it that only work one way and DDR RAM has a notch right in the middle so that process is easier. At least that is what I think they were trying to do for consumers.

If you are an overclocker and things will be heating up in your computer you should invest in some RAM heatsinks. Installing RAM heatsink will displace heat from your RAM when you are grinding away at lightning fast speeds and voltage rates.
