New Technology

My hard drive review has already made a special article on the latest and greatest thing with sata hard drive. Western Digital has successfully made a 2 terabyte drive for you to throw you in your undersized computer. Instead of stating the information again, I will just provide a link to it. Check out Western Digital Green Caviar Computer Hard Drives.

Things to Look for

When you are looking for a new computer hard drive you will want to get the right size for your needs. The speed is more of a given in my book. If you have an old computer it will be an IDE drive and if it is newer it will be SATA. This all depends on your computer motherboard and the connections it has on it.

My hard drive review has these sections all split up for you to take your pick from. You should always know what your computer motherboard operates with before you buy a ide hard drive or a sata hard drive. If you want to not even worry about either you can easily get a external hard drive. The most famous of these is the usb external hard drive.

A variety of sizes give you plenty of options to pick what you need for a computer hard drive for. You might want a small, but fast hard drive so that you can load the operating system and not have it slow down the computer. Then you could add super huge secondary drives for storage space.

You can also just have 1 big hard drive and do all your basic work on it and make sure you keep up the maintenance on it to get it fast while adding and removing programs. I have to do this all the time to keep things moving up to my standards on my older machines. They still provide me with plenty of performance today.

Brands to Trust

Trust is something that you can never underestimate with a person or a company. When you have faith in their products it is because they provide quality and performance consistently from product to product. I always rate this number one when I look for computer parts. In my hard drive review I always give the new company their fair shake especially when a company makes big improvements to improve their customer performance. Below, I will list such companies that you can lay your trust in for a computer hard drive.

  • Western Digital
  • Hitachi
  • Seagate
