You may be wondering why is my CPU overheating? The problem is this could happen for a various amount of reason. However, it is usually the same reason everytime. The real issue is how to fix the problem by stopping your CPU from overheating.

The first place to go when you notice that your computer cpu is overheating is to the task manager to see if any software programs are running near 100% and basically burning in your computer processor for an extended amount of time. In a regular environment this should not cause your computer cpu overheating, but it could cause it to fail because the product is not working correctly.

I personally believe the biggest reason a cpu would overheat is because the thermal compound is either subpar or was installed incorrectly. When you install a CPU you should always make sure you apply the thermal paste evenly on the CPU die. You must always buy a good type of thermal compound. I would suggest Arctic Silver or Arctic Cooling MX-2.

The last reason your computer cpu would be overheating is because of the heat. Not the heat inside of your computer, but the heat outside of your computer. As I write this it is 80 degrees in my house and I have no control over it. I run my computer to a HDTV and the heat buildup in this room goes up very quickly. The next thing I know i can hear the computer fans speeding up to try to keep all the computer parts from overheating.

You may have already figured this out, but what can you do about it if you know how to overclock CPU is to use computer water cooling. Many people have moved up to pc watercooling so they won't have to worry how hot it gets. It may be a bit scary , but it is much easier than you think. You could always use computer air cooling, but that just creates noise.

When you run in the problem of computer cpu overheating make sure to analyze all the possible problems and then research on how to properly fix them. You may find that the solution is pretty simple, but waiting to fix the problem could cost you hundreds of dollars.
