AMD Bulldozer

Specifications
The first thing I should explain is the fact that the AMD bulldozer is not out as of now (October 2010).
It is scheduled for 2011 sometime. It will be the new big thing at AMD with 16 cores for the AMD Opteron
server version and will have a 4 and 8 core version for the desktop computers. The best part is all the
cores will only be seen as 2 by your operating system. Don't be scared it is supposed to see it that way!
Cores - Octo-Core x2
L3 Cache - 16 MB
L2 cache - 2 MB
Memory - DDR3-1866 and higher
Size - 32 nanometers
HT Technology - 51 Gigabytes per second
Socket - AM3+
Overview
The AMD Bulldozer is going to be one great computer CPU for your server owners. Think of it,
16 cores blasting away doing your every command while still saving energy and keeping temperatures
low in your possibly liquid cooled or airplane sounding server room. It brings a smile to
my face just thinking about it! Also with this great technology is an upgrade to GPU
technology. The AMD Fusion will be a great way for video
card technology to advance leaps and bounds!
As you know bulldozer is a codename for the next generation computer processor that AMD will unveil
soon. You will find that it has a definite decrease in energy consumption mainly from one simple
upgrade AMD has done. You will find that they are now going to have it only producing watts from
10 - 100! 10 watts is pretty crazy if you ask me! What you will like even better is the fact that
this is a brand new processor with no ugprading from another. It has all new technology and I assure
you that it will cost a pretty penny to get it at first.
I have listed much of the information that I know, but you will know a lot more when AMD finalizes
the amd bulldozer computer processors and provides information on their website. I believe this is all to beat Intel
and show them that they can produce new updated speed in lightning time. We all love AMD for their
love of the overclocker and having the ability make computer parts our own with full customizations.
You can get more information from my cpu reviews.
Price
The AMD Bulldozer
processors are not available for purchase now. they are planned to be released in 2011
according to AMD. You can expect a steep price for the speed of these processors and
also the fact that they are new. The lowest speed one will probably start at $1500 and the highest
may go up to $4000. Of course they will go down within the first year and all be below $2000 indefinitely.
