Abit AV8 Motherboard Review
Specifications
As you probably know the abit av8 motherboard is not the newest abit motherboard
around today, but since so many people are still asking about it because they still
own one I thought I might show others why it was so popular. With socket 939 and an
AMD 64 computer processor this was on top of the market at one point. As for now
other better options are available for the price. Matter fact... you won't even find
this in store anymore.

Overview
First let me say that the Abit av8 motherboard was probably one of the last computer
motherboards on the market to have socket 939 and an AGP slot. As you know now the
video card technology of AGP has been deemed obsolete to the power of PCI Express.
So get it out of your mind of using an upgraded video card for some cheap games.
If you believe that this is too ancient and need a new main board please check my
motherboard reviews. It will help you find
something more up to date and suitable for your needs. If what you want isn't there
you can simply ask me for a more current analysis of what to buy.
You will find that this pc motherboard is very reliable and gives strong performance.
Under normal circumstances this works very well, but if you try to go over what it can
handle and it realizes you don't have the right computer parts to do that it will
stop you and go back to normal settings automatically. It is a little annoying, but
may save you a few bucks and some time when it doesn't burn up.
I wished it had more SATA cards so you wouldn't have to use controller cards.
This may not bother you, but it can be a pain. Another thing that is a pain is
the way the customer support used to be for Abit back in 2005 when this was still
being sold widely. I am not sure how it is going now, but it couldn't have gotten
much worse.
Price
I would like to talk about the price, but it doesn't exist for sale anymore. So
if you can find one at an old computer shop or just own one you will be hard
pressed to fix it. That is why I suggest you replace your Abit av8 motherboard
with something that will be suitable for the whole family! Something like the
ASUS Rampage II GENE!
