The LG GH24NS50 24x review shows this to be the second best of the dvd burners you can buy. The rest of them aren't as close to these and I believe they can basically be ignored unless you have some type of preference. I generally move toward Lite-On and Sony, but they didn't perform well this time around and I am happy to say some new people have swiftly taken over.
Speed - Burner 24x + Reader 16x Port - SATA Warranty - Short time
The LG GH24NS50 24x review shows the LG DVD burner to be a strong producer of speed and reliability. The reliability part works when you couple it with the correct computer parts and computer software. It is a very fast dvd burner at 24x and is basically the new high standard for everybody to yield up too. Some have these speeds, but they aren't consistent or the buffer underrun is very weak and it can't handle the data its transmitting if it loses speed. This can artificially increase the time taken to burn a dvd.
You will like how quiet it is for being so fast. This is under the knowledge that DVD discs that run at these speeds will be loud when they are actively reading. They will be especially loud when they first start up. I think you know what I am talking about. You may recognize this as a sound that mimics an airplane taking off.
If you have not already found out this is a $25 dollar sata dvd burner. How cheap do you want this computer part to be? I believe this is a great price for an excellent piece of computer hardware. Other components can set you back so far for minimal improvement. It is best to get the bang for your buck and save up for a complete new computer build.
A seemingly major problem that is occuring with the LG GH24NS50 24x review shows the drivers that you need to use with it to get it to work with new computer software. The new Windows operating systems like "7" are unavailable and LG customer service is slow to respond to requests. It is best to go to another place for drivers for your machine, but who wants to use third party? You can find more information at dvd burner reviews.
you can purchase the LG GH24NS50 24x
for around $25 at an online retailer. You will have to pay closer to double that at your local retail store. However, you may be able to find
a manufacturer mail-in rebate if you are willing to wait 6 months to get your money back.
